If it is the passanger side & your heater is not working properley it could be the matrix !!

Probably the plastic off behind the door cards have perished! Happened on mine, just replace them or make them, do a search as there is alot of advice on what to use!

hope this helps

btw - i'll give you a call this weekend if that's ok, my car may be working by then :) lol

went out to my car on saturday and the passenger side footwell and the rear passenger side floor was totally flooded! heater works fine and there is no sign of water anywhere near the heater motor. the seat was dry so it doesn't look as if it has fallen from the sunroof or windscreen. i took the carpet up and removed the insulation as it was totally soaked. then removed one of the floor bungs and the water flooded the road! it's dried out pretty well now but i still can't see how that much water got in!

thanks for all the replies guys. ;) the waters coming on the passenger side in the front footwell and the back.the heaters are all working fine so i don't think it's the matrix.my seats are all dry so i think it's the sunroof.so the only thing to check out now is the plastic behind the door.i hope it's this cause it's cheap and easy ;D give me a call the weekend deefadog, your welcome to call up ;)

usual places. behind door cards, underneath scuttle, sunroof channels, heater motor on mk2's

not so usual places. rubber grommits between boot and roof. window seals, if you find its leaking through a seal then its best to get the window removed & re-fitted as you'll find its rusting away also below the seal!!

jv - Rallye windscreens are bonded are they not. so it shouldnt be leakin in there. unless its had a new screen in its time

I take it you didn't leave the top down? KIDDING!!!

I had water in my footwells when scuttle filled with old leaves etc. Blocks the drain tubes and the water spills up over the lip around where the heater fan sits and down inside of bulkhead on to footwell.

Another possibility is the door seal - mines just gone hence a wet floor AGAIN!! >:(

nice one ;) ;D it's not the cab i'm having problems with,it's the valver i just bought.i have sealed the plastic on the inside of the door so that should be sorted but you have given me another idea.there does seem to be quite a few leaves in the scuttle panel so i'll be cleaning that out tomorrow ;)

found the problem :D it's the plastic tube that comes down from the sunroof, through the door and down into the wing.In between the door and the wing the plastic tube had bent which somehow was causing the water to come down in between the door and into the car.does anyone know if i can get a new one of these and if it's easy to fit as this one seems to have perished a bit over time?

I'm not sure if VW do them still or not - worth a go. Failing that it should be a fairly standard metric bore size so would have thought you wouldn't have trouble finding an alternative.

any chance of a picture of tyhat as i dont know which part you mean.  I thought I had sorted out all the leaks in my valver last year but now that winter has come back round its leaking like a bastard again!  :( always problems
but thats what we love so much about old mk2's :)
pity its getting too bloody cold to work outside on the car though

it'll most likely be the door semals, the placcy ones on the inside!  when these goes, the water floods in uber fast when it pisses it down!

Best thing to do is replace em!
