morning knowledgeable ones, i've got two noticeable chips on the side of my car (), where is the best place for me to get some paint to touch it up? can i just go into my stealer and get a little pot of deep black pearl?! thanks in advance!

You can buy paint pens from your dealer, not the cheapest but they do seem to match better than helfrauds and aftermarket ones. I got one for mine the other day.

You're lucky, VW still haven't produced a carbon grey touch up kit

Are you sliding the pens down the side of your A-frame?!

My little silver lady had got 3 stone chips on the bonnet already in just under a month... Bl**dy holes in the roads around my way are still a joke.. I've always been paranoid about touch up pens as they can make the bonnet look worse than leaving the stone chips sometimes. Reckon I'll have to do something though- urgh !!
-
I was going to make a bad joke about removing the chips from your bonnet as soon as possible - otherwise you'll end up with seagull footprints all over your bonnet...
But its too lame, so I won't bother
-
If you tailgate then you end up with loads of stone chips!!

And that my dears is the truth.
Stop tailgating you demon drivers.
or
Make sure you are behind a vehicle with mudflaps.

I think it's more to do with the terrible state of the roads.
I've had a few stone chips and a cracked windscreen, I don't tailgate.

This calls for cling film!

I try and not tailgate either and my bonnet is absolutely covered.
I have also noticed 2 on the drivers wheel arch

So sorry.
So bloody annoying.
What the hell are we do do? Our poxy roads are the worst in Europe now. The pot holes are enormous. Everyday on my way to work, I avoid a total of 14 on a 7 mile journey through Central London. The buggers are getting bigger and deeper by the day.

I know how you feel. I got a nasty nick in the front bumper during the drive home from the dealers, and with bumpers being plastic, the stone actually makes an indentation in the plastic. I also have a couple of stone chips on the bonnet, and noticed today a little scrape on the back bumper, probably caused by a stone.
I have come to the conclusion that however much you want to keep a car perfect, it's impossible.
I bought a touch up stick the other week and have done my best, but it's not fantastic. *sigh*
-
I'm not saying its all down to tailgaiting? But it does help if you give yourself some space from the dreaded lorries, even motorbikes throw up big stones. I have one already on the front bumper, and i'm P***** about it!! Its very difficult to totaly avoid them!!

You can't get a cracked windscreen and bonnet chips from bad roads if there's nothing driving in front of you [on the sills and doors maybe]
What I mean is, the stones can't fly up then overtake the car and hit the bonnet/windscreen can they? Surely all the stones will hit aft of the front wheels?
-
But i reckon stones can also fly off from cars and trucks on the opposite side of the road....
