Title: 15" Alloys and 14" spare-can I use help please!!!
Post by: jnielow on 10 April 2010, 08:12
Dear All,

I have a set of 4 15" Gti Alloys and a 14" steel spare, is it safe for me to use this 14" to get me out of trouble if I get a puncture or would you get hold of a 15" wheel & tyre asap?

If so does anyone have a 15" steel wheel 5 stud 100 stud diameter tyre size 195/65/15 for sale? I live in Herts

cheers

jason

It all depends on the profile of the tyres.

As above if the profile is right then you will be fine.

i would think the disc size would be more of an issue. it might be a ball ache if you get a front punctures and you have to put a back on the front and the space saver on the back

All depends what the car is, i am guessing its not a GTI, but a smaller engined model that they have fitted the 15"GTI alloys onto and the 14" spare is the origanal one.

furry muff, i thought mk4's would have bigger brakes than mk2's

256's are the biggest that go behind 14s

GTI only has 288mm and pretty sure they came with 15" alloys. so i would guess the smaller engined are smaller than that.
