Title: Sump
Post by: Ben_1uk on 09 April 2010, 16:10
I've noticed that my sump occasionally fowls on the road somtimes and one of the corners has started to fray. The car isn't even lowered  Is this normal?!?!

It's a plastic cover directly beneath the engine right at the front of the car - it's a splash guard isn't it :embarassed:

Yes mate.  Crikey, you had me worried for your motor then!

Shield has probably just dropped on its fixings a bit.  Is it the full one that goes right to the back of the engine, or just the partial one that covers the radiator?  Get your head under there and check the screws are all in place and that the shield itself isn't damaged.

If its becoming a problem whip it off.  Might get a bit more road noise and dust in the engine bay is all.
