Title: A Yank in Germany.
Post by: inivid on 09 April 2010, 13:13
My name's Travis.  I drive a US Spec 2004 GTI that I have had since new.  As you can gather from my sig, I haven't done much but gather a plutheora of parts.  Currently, my car is awaiting transport from the US. Wrenching shall commence this summer.

Goal for the summer is to have the motor finished.  Over the winter I'll be collecting exterior bits. Notably, European bumpers and skirts.  Next summer, I will either redo the interior, or install bags.  I'm taking my time, really.

Lastly, once my car arrives in Germany, I will be looking for a set of Tornado Red European spec OEM bumpers.  Of course, I will offer my OEM US spec bumpers in direct trade to anyone posessing the forementioned that is interested.

I usually do more lurking and reading than posting, yet look forward to getting to know more Dubbers that are closer to where I now live.  Also, my fiancé lives in Tuddenham, northeast of London, so I make periodic trips to visit.  It would be a pleasure to meet some Dubbers there.

Cheers, all!

Many thanks.  My fiance isn't so fond of VWs, so I have my work cut out for me.  She's completely smitten with Toyota Rav4s.  Ugh!
In fact, I'll be in flying up to London next weekend, to visit her.  Perhaps there's an event I can bring her along to?   haha

Also, please forgive my American English.  I'm sure I will grow out of it.   ...at least I know what a boot is. (Thank you Jeremy Clarkson.)

@Jord:  I left a response in your build thread.

welcome to the forum mate, shame you not based here in the UK but on the up you can still visit.

The forum is running a charity event/rolling road day in the summer on 29th August, so if your over visiting your girlfriend it might be worth while coming to the event and seeing how we do things in the uk.

Welcome and enjoy your stay
