Title: steam cleaning g60 help

just bought a raddo g60 engine is filthy oily I have a new charger stands out like a sore thumb
I basically want to steam clean the hell out of it will it be safe i did my old gti years ago and it
was a pig to drive for a short time

firstly cover electrics and air intakes, spray apc or dedicated engine cleaner/degreaser on worst bits first then underside of bonnet and everywhere else in the bay, allow to dwell for 5/10 mins re-applying as needed, pressure wash underside of bonnet first then work your way around the bay being carefull of the covered bits. when happy with the results take off covers put bonnet down but not fully shut and start engine and leave to run till it gets nice and warm in there and the heat will dry it out and the moisture will escape from the front of the bonnet and wings, then when dry re-apply grease where its needed as you would of washed any off during the process, apply a dressing and your done :wink:

is that gunk anygood to use I have some of it kicking about

i have heard that some people use gunk.. use something afterwards though to dress the plastics
