Title: ABS S ensor
Post by: gti_mk3 on 20 November 2004, 22:21
hi all

can anybody help on how to remove the ABS sensor at rear of MK3 gti? have unscrewed the bolt that appears to hold it in place but it wont budge - is there a special knack to this? As they are plastic I am reluctant to whack with hammer as you might imagine.

also - does a bentley service manual contain fault codes with detailed descriptions on how to fix? Have bought VAG COM cable and am considering the written manual also  -

Advice much appreciated
Cheers

Chris

The sensor is bolted in . It removes straight back but it most likely to be stuck in with crud .

The way we got mine out was to remove the rear disk and push it through that way . [Thats how i know ] But with good access and some patience it should come out without having to do this.

VAG-COM will in the main only tell you of faulty sensors , so in terms of that its a one in one out job i beleive .
