Hey all, tried the search button but cannot find any one with the same on BOTH sides.
My 2002 golf has uneven tyre wear on the rears, basically its wearing more on the outsides that the insides by about 2mm I would guess. As far as I am lead to believe they mk4 cannot be adjusted at the back so what could be causing this and what should I look into ?
Thanks all

Front wheel drive cars can suffer with this.
Spot wear.

Thanks for the link, had a look at that but this is all over the tyre not uneven patterns like in the link mentioned ? :undecided:
Also that mentions inside edge this is on the outer edge of both tyres

I had this a while back and mine was just the edges
Tyre pressures ? :undecided:

It is a common issue with mk4's then, I would say the inside edge has 4mm, middle 3mm and then the outer edge 2mm of tread
-
Nope checked tyre pressures and all fine ? 32/33 on fronts and 30 rears iirc.

Oh my I think I have stumped the whole forum :D.
Its not the end of the world with tread like this, but I just like to get things fixed if I can. Could well be that the previous owner moved the front tyres to the back, but I wont know this until I have owned it for a while.

i was gonna say the fronts might of been put on the rear
or do you get any knocking at the back? rear axle beam bushes?
-
No knocking that I have noticed, hmm may have a search and see if I can find out how to inspect/replace these unless any of you guys have the link to hand ? ;)
