Title: the good the bad the ugly
Post by: ...joe on 20 November 2004, 18:00
yesterday i was driving to work and i saw a really nicely modified mk2, "nice" i thought. then drove another couple of hundered yards and saw another! "nice again" i thought....Then i saw yet another! 3 nicely modified golfs in about 2 miles from home!
wow there are people with good taste in my town! but just now i've seen a terrible mk3 which has shat on my 'good taste' golf owners!
picture it, red 5 door cl or something, standard ride height (in fact it looks like its been raised) big nasty lexus style rear lights (trust me, the worst kind) big nasty '80's style dtm rear box, big dubsport sticker in the window and to cap it off............a lovely set of tri spokes!!!!!!!

Its a shame when people make a mess of the mk3, as it is a good car deep down, ok maybe not the 8v ;)

Mk3's can be both nicely modified and comfortable family cars as well. D

just found it funny when i was starting to think of all the nice golfs round here then i see this mess!

OUCH!! Thats was harsh!!

Have to admit they aren't my "cup o' tea", but each to his own I suppose. They are a bit different from the usual 3 spoke though.

the "nice" modified cars I always see are always incomplete. for instance, yesterday, i was following a nice looking valver. lowered, stretched tyres, windows blacked out, nice rear lights.

a nice car. but.

the tyres stuck out so far, you could see the scuffs in the rubber where it had hit the arch, and the exhaust was missing some of the bits that hold it on.

so all in all nice car - but little things needed finishing which really let it down.

very diplomatic!!! ;)

i didn't mean to cause any offence but we're a few decades on from tri spokes and they haven't lasted as well as other '80's fashion faux pas'!! if thats gonna be your track cars ditch them for something fookin light!
