As above, going to fit my momo wheel, dont want the airbag light on, searched the site and got an answer and the part number, rang vw and its £30 odd???
The guy from vw said you only need the resistor but from them its the whole kit.
Has anyone got a cheap fix? maplins jobby or something???

Have you tried Momo

The later mk3 golf which has a drivers airbag has a resister behind the glove box if it doesn't have a passenger airbag fitted. You will have to remove the glove box to be able to get to it, then its a case of just unplugging it

Hi, I used a 0.33 ohms resister I obtained from my old workplace and it did the trick. I think u can get them from maplins

I used a 3.3 ohms

Lol that's what I meant, a 3.3 ohms

cheers guys, is it just a case of plugging into the wire which feeds the airbag?

Pritty much yeah.
-
I fitted it to the connecter that connects to the slip ring in the cowling.
-
guys, is it a 3.3k ohms or a 3.3m ohms resister needed for this job?
-
2.5ohm to 3.3 ohm
easyer to find a 3.3
-
K or m though? I've seen resisters labelled 3.3k ohms and 3.3m ohms? Not sure if there the same thing or different?
-
k=kilo, m=mega.
-
They are defiantly not £30 form the dealers,
Half that....
-
Just 3.3ohms, go to your local maplins or similar they'll sell them in there

momo sell them as part of a £50 kit (which is basically a resitor, wires and instructions!)
