Title: what do i need all together

i have a 20vt 2000 w reg arz engine.....what do i need to do the vag com thing i have a good laptop just need to be pointed in the right direction and how much will it all cost

Depends if you want to go down the legit route (£££) or dodgy route (£).

Ebay cable + software downloaded for free/supplied with the cable = £10-£20

Ross Tech cable + licence = $349


I want to go down the legit route eventually so I can scan newer cars too.

dodgey for me  :laugh: :grin: any links ?? are the cables and soft ware s all the same for all the engine codes in the mk 4 s ?
