Did you get the DVD?
Mine has the maps loaded on the hard disc, but I expected to get the DVD also.
-
I did't get the DVD when I ordered Sat nav on my other cars. When I got my GTI, I didn't ask cause I didn't expect they will give me one. If the Sat Nav goes wonky, I just take the car back to the dealers. Besides, I can't see the point as the map may need updating in the next year or two!
-
So the dealer preloaded the maps, but stuck the DVD in the glovebox as well.
-
I got the DVD as well as the maps being preloaded :)

Anybody out there who implemented succesfully the police flaslights via Inspector POI etc etc in his RNS510 Nav... :smug:
I would appreciate a good link or some help...it looks rather complicated...
I am now able to use Picture Navigation via SD Card...quite a cool feature.....press a full coloured big size (2mb) photo on the touchscreen (say the Eiffeltower or your mother-in-law) and the Nav starts
-
Sounds interesting Erik, do you have a link or other details?
-
I was asking the question...

Here you are, I looked it up for you :
http://www.volkswagen-nav-companion.de/results.jsf
Fill out a postcode and country (press ...suchen starten) then insert an informative pic (2mb max) from say from the internet ..(press bild laden)..let the program search the adresss and when found... give it some additional info and save the whole lot (press fur bild speichern) than save it as a complete package (foto with info) on SD-Card under a new map you have made on the SD-card called:...
"gps-pictures"
Insert the SD-card in your RNS-510...go to nav....press new dest....the sd-card will be one of the possibilities to choose....pick that one ..AND BE AMAZED....all the pics in full colour on your screen...press a chosen pic....and press start....idiotproof...
Again have fun it really works like a charm...I have stored 25 pics ...
