Title: Sticky clutch pedal

Howdo!!

Got a recurring issue with my 1992 mk2 8v gti, which had just got worse this weekend...

Basically, the pedal doesn't return back to the correct point after it has been pressed... It kinda sticks half way!

The clutch doesn't slip or seem to be open when the pedal is at that point, but its annoying!

It used to happen every now and again, but now happens 9 times out of 10!

Hope the description makes sense??

Any help would be wicked!!

Grease the visible clutch cable that attaches to the gearbox arm. Cable is sticking inside the sleeve. Just to be doubly sure wd40 the pivot point inside the car on the top of the clutch pedal.  :wink:
Had a similar problem after changing my clutch cable, albeit not as severe, just hadn't put enough grease on it.

I've already soaked the pivot point in WD40, so will grease up the clutch cable tomorrow.... Fingers crossed!

I'd replace the cable, sounds liek its starting to fray inside. also if clutch pedal is higher than the brake pedal the pedal stop has fallen off
