while ive been out the house today my brothers been playing in my car  so ive come home to find he's ripped the glovebox handle off.
can anyone help me out on fitting a new one? was thinking of just getting a replacement off ebay but then i wouldnt know where to start with fitting. Thanks in advance!

Is the glovebox open or closed? - If it's closed I'm sure there's a video on youtube of how to open it..
To remove the old one simply unscrew the 3 screws on the inside and the whole thing will seperate/drop out
The new one goes back in the same way!
Simples

That's a fair price! I used to be able to get £20 for them.

Pick 'em up on ebay for a few quid - cheaper if you go to a scrappies and remove one yourself.

ive paid about £12 including postage for one off ebay. claims its genuine vdub, and new, but so long as it does the job and looks the part im happy! our young uns paying anyway for breaking it so price isnt a problem! haha

Can anyone explain how i swap the lock from my old glovebox handle to my new one? much appreciated!
-
there are four plastic clips holding the lock in, they bend back slightly to let the old lock out, and to put a new one, they simply slide in and clip into place.

These are common to break and a lot of the scrappers are wise to it. I have been asked £15 for one mechanism before from a local scrapyard (when I first got the car). Now whenever I am in a few breakers I know I always pick any up I can, the mechanisms are usually worth £10 all day long (and of course it helps to have a spare around). So, the price in Cable's posts isnt mercinary, its pretty much spot on.

all sorted now! cheers for the help!
