Have followed the info regarding 16v KR running a bit flat, seems to have come on recently.
Slightly lumpy idle, like it's cammed, but it's not. Have checked/ cleaned out ISV. 3rd gear light throttle seems to be holding back or missing. Just all round bit flat for want of better word, doesn't have any urgency. Suspecting a vac leak as it's coming on slowly getting worse.
Plugs are new, dizzy/arm new, new cam belt and waterpump.
I've got to replace the fuel lines/ fuel distributor on my KR 16v (they look like they've been at the bottom of the sea!)
Got replacement lines and fuel distributor c/w lower inlet and injectors, but they're 2nd hand so thinking it'd be simpler to replace with new injectors & seals etc.
Anyone know part no's please?
Also how'd you get the injectors out without wrecking them.
Another question is anyone recommend where to get some decent plug leads for KR?
Also where to get new Vac lines/hoses for the KR too as I think I have a slight air leak causing it to run flat/ poor throttle response.

It's to do with the amount of shielding on them,I've just bought a set of 8mm Magnecores for my 16v and they where £130 quid!

Has the lack of power come on since you had the cambelt done? if so have the timing checked,you'd be suprised how much of a difference a freshly tuned and timed up 16v feels to drive.

Yeah they look cool was looking at some Magnecor KV85's but yeah 130.00 a throw was like, are they frikin magical or something?

Yeah it was timed when the belt was done but do they out of time? Was running strongly then seems to have papped out a bit of late. Thought I'd got a bad batch of petrol but just won't rev cleanly. Will call garage on Monday see what they have to say about it...

In my experience when ever my valver has started to feel abit flat I whip her over to the guys at the Phirm and they tinker about un the bonnet for half hour and she is like new again,I do think the 16v kr's need a tune every now and then to keep them running sweet,well mine does anyway! :grin:

Yeah, I have guys @ Target Motors in Dundee, they seem to know their stuff. I have an ABF lurking in the garage and if I hadn't just spent a small fortune getting the KR sorted it'd be getting punted in favour of more cc's :grin:
Thinking of changing my GTi badge for an LS one. LS standing for Little Sh!t. My mk2 Driver was indestructible where as this one needs this and that and seems to manage about 200 odd miles before it has something needing done :rolleyes:

beru leads from gsf or avs will do you, around £40.
as for your symptoms, try swapping the wires round on the 3 sensors on the side of the head

iirc it was Beru leads that I got from the motofactor for 40.00, made symptons worse (like I'd mucked up firing order, but hadn't) Noticed the Beru leads didn't have the ceramic shielding in them like my old ones. Was offered OEM replacement leads for 80.00 but was still peed off about the crappy leads so left it for time being.

Will have a look during the week when I get back. Will see if it makes a difference. Have list of to do's and dones...
1.Fuel pressure is low. Check both pumps are operating well.
2. Timing/CO2 is out?
3. Compression is low for some reason? (valve seals etc.)
4. Temp sensors 3 sensors on the side of the head
5. ECU/TCI/Coil issue
6. Leads are knackered(?)
7. rotor arm and dizzy cap.
8. Worn/clogged injectors or injector seals?
9. spark plugs

Those Beru leads I got seemed like cheap sh!t3, super flimsy. Might of got a duff set though.
Going to have a look at the sensors on the head in first instance but failing that I may dump it at that garage with instructions to "fix it", hearty sick of it at the mo. Seem to spend more time fixing it rather than enjoying it. :rolleyes:

hang In there bud,it'll really be worth it once you got it running properly,I went through a stage a few years back when it was one thing after another and was on the brink of selling it but I kept it and did what needed to be done and I'm so glad I did as now it runs properly it's such an awsome car and makes me grin like a child everytime I drive it (which isn't that often these days)

Cheers Reasty, I got the rest of the week off work (wooooooooooooooooooooooh).
I'm going to try and devote sometime to the lil bastid car. Will pick it up from my folks tonight and go from there.
Going to
1)Raise coilovers to slightly more useable height.
2) Sort out lumpy running issues.
3) Get timing CO2 double checked.
4) Fit my stereo
5) Refit cigarette lighter ( for satnav)
6) Leather treatment and a damn good clean.
7) maybe think about attacking the rust, maybe.
Will more than keep me busy for weekend...
