Title: diffrence between cat-back and turbo back?

Cat back exhaust is from the catylitic converter onwards and turbo back is from the manifold onwards... in other words turbo back is pretty much full system with standard manifold, cat back is half a system.

thanks if i was to get the tubo back would it be a good idea to upgrade the manifold aswell or does it not matter?

If you can afford it go for it but manifolds aint cheap.  if you do it though at least you wont have to do it later and have the exhaust off and back on again.... a mk4 owner would have to tell you if you get enough gain to make it worth while though.  personally i think a Turbo back system is plenty as far as exahust mods go on a mk4 and i wouldn't  bother changing the manifold untill i was ready to upgrade the turbo to something bigger.
