dont buy supersports unless you want a broken back by the harshness
-
you aint gonna get a set of soft coilovers ;D

softness setting ???
is it noticable?
-
dunno to be honest but every car ive been in with coilovers has shook the car to death >:D
dont matter tho cos the cornering is soo good ;D depends what you want in the end
-
You get what you pay for i say. I got KONI's and there a nice comfortable ride when on soft even when the car slammed low. Sure there not limmo standard but they dont shake the car to bits and handle a hell of a lot better than a limmo!
-
thx i dont mind too hard of a ride as long as it handles well. regards

I haven't been a big fan of coilovers on daily drivers but I am really thinking of them lately. Roads up here are sh!te though. Afraid of beating my car and me to death.
-
roads are sh!te here as well mate whats the difference between those supersports and fks?
-
Not too sure really. I am looking at the Konigsport FK's. Use Koni inserts and are suppose to be pretty good. Be a couple of months though.
-
The lower you go, the harder they are gonna get, it's common sense.
It's only really worth getting coilovers for 2 reasons, if you wanna go REAL low, OR if you need to be able to alter your rideheight. Other than that you would be better off spending your money on a Koni/Eibach shocks and springs combo.
-
yeah to be honest i only got coilovers as i got an amazing deal on them and because i don't drive my car daily i decided to slam it!

ANyone know of where i can get a package deal of the Koni yellow top and Eibach springs? The only place I can find is awesome GTI and they seem to be slightly out of their mind on the price.
-
^^ plus they are sh!t at taking orders and always tell you the stuffs in stock when it isnt, then when you phone up someone else is there and it 'isnt their fault'
a car on coilovers is definately gonna handle better tho, but can you put up with the ride?
-
I don't see why a car on coilovers will always handle better than a spring and shock set up, all it is, is a shock with an adjustable platform and a spring, if you get a good set of adjustable dampers and some springs that are designed for the car you can't really go far wrong...If I didn't want my car slammed I would be on Koni Eibach set up for sure.

PM 16vMatt mate, he got a set last year and it was a good price if I remember rightly.

I bought supersport goldlines. Ive noticed that when i slam the car i get a smoother ride? I duno?
anyway they are good for slamming or track day use on a budget. 120mm drops
-
thx for all of your replies I'm probably going to buy them supersport coilovers and see what they're like. If I don't like them I'm sure someone will b uy them off me. The way I see it, is thta my suspension is f**ked because its done 140k and is still on the original sprongs so if i'm gonna spend money i may as well be able to alter the height to see what its like

Ahhh well if you are on your original "Sprongs" then it's no wonder, put some springs on and it will all be ok
-
look like a pretty good deal if you can get them cheap enough, but not low enough in my opinion!!!!
-
yeah totally agree i want to go at lest 50 mm
Thx for the tip on the sprongs, i took them off and fitted springs. Man what a difference, troubles is i don't bunnyhop down the road anymore though
cheers
