Title: Introduction and a few pics :)
Post by: tom-gardiner on 03 April 2010, 00:28
have bin around on here for a month or to now and havnt really got round to introducing myself yet. so here it goes.

no prizes for guessing the name, username is abit of a give away so wont insult your intelligence by telling you that one.
Im 17 years old
I have a 1.8t W Reg Golf GTi, it’s the AGU engine. No modes currently that I no of but here is what I have planned…
R-Tech Remap, Miltek 4motion style non-res exhaust, forge 007p DV, 17” rims of some sort, still undecided want it to be subtle but still look good, coilovers not sure which ones, want to go as low as I can with out 1. Looking like a twit when  I scrape over the many speed bumps around were I live and 2. Have rubbing on my wheels so some help there would be good :) also wouldn’t mind some lightly tinted windows not blacked out around 40%, alpine double din head unit coming soon and vibe door speakers all-round and my fusion sub in the back.
This is my 2ed car, unfortunately some muppet went up my arse doing 40mph when I was stopped at red lights. I say unfortunately but financially it worked out quite well, not many 17 year olds can afford a 1.8t golf. But there’s always a bad side to the story, my girl friend now has a very bad back. 3months on for the accident and still no were near recovery, was limited movement of back and little/ no feeling across the bottom half of her back.
From what I’ve seen everyone sounds wicked, cant wait for the next show and meet some of you guys. Was planning to go Ultimate Dubs but had to work.
Any other questions, fire away?
Apart from that I have a few questions for you guys,
What coilovers for around £500 mark and how low could I go with 17” 225 rims without rubbing to much?
Here are a few picks of my golf. Any other mods you guys would recommend is great, im open to suggestions :)

How much do you think it's going to go up when you declare all the mods you plan to do?

[/quogoing to wait till july (when my insurance is due to be done again before i do any mods, its going to stay at 2.2k. with out mods would be 1.6k with 1 years no claims :)

nice car mate :) welcome to the forums. definatly go with 18s though, 17s look way too small on mk4s.
and you can get coilovers from £170 on ebay.
