Title: 16v No power top end.
Post by: Judderi on 18 November 2004, 10:32
Hi. My valver is seriously lacking power top end! It has a 2.0 block on it and runns on a lpg gas conversion as well as petrol. Off the mark it is seriously quick! Then hit 4k revs and im better off changing into the next gear. Shouldent it be the other way round with a 16v engine i.e hit 4k and gain more power! The only thing i can think of is where the gas interupts the air intake pipe it reduces the diameter by about half due to some strange T piece nozzle thing. Is this choking the engine at high revs? Any ideas folks?

P.S Its not the car in my sig pic. Thats for sale by the way!

A mate of mine had similar symptoms with a Ford (aagggh)something , took him weeks to find out what it was, it turned out to be the exhaust being blocked by the muffling stuff they put inside,it had come loose and choked the exhaust pipe

Check it out ;)

cant you take the restrictive T-piece out and run it on petrol to test that theory ?
