oh and how many cd connections are in the back of the head unit(gamma i think?)
-
It's just one connection at the back isn't it? Hence why you can only access the first 5 playlists as it uses where you would normaly plug the in-dash multi disc player?
I maybe wrong though :undecided:
-
hmmm yeah maybe, not sure i want to lose the cd player as the wife is ipod illiterate :undecided:
or i might just say fook it and tell her to just use the radio

I might have it wrong mate. There might be a connection on the back of the single disc cd player for the cd changer. I will check tomorrow for you as My original units are in storage.
MP3 Headunit with bluetooth streaming FTW!
-
yeah mate if you could check that would be a huge help.
yeah saving up for a new head unit but got sooooooo much other stuff to do first, service next week, new tyres for TT comp alloys that i need to also get refurbed and painted, ARB's, better coilovers etc............. when will i ever have the spare cash

Have A look for a system called x-link, it will allow you to keep cd changer and connect iPod/iPhone to head unit, best of both worlds

There is a connection on the back of the single CD, the select button on the front of the player toggles between the two

If you are running a single disc player and a multichanger, then to use this cable you lose the mutlichanger and keep the single CD.
The single cd plugs to the Headunit and there is an output on the back of the single disc for the changer.
Was going to do this myself but i dont have a single disc player.

Ahh right, cheers guys
Yeah just got a single shot cd player at the moment so gonna give it a go

I have one of these. In my previous golf it connected to the multi changer slot on my single cd player.
Currently i have only the tape deck, but this also connects to that. Fully controlable through the radio although once you start using playlists you have to use the ipod to get back to shuffle. Also you can have more than 5 playlists.

Just fitted it in less than 20 min, really easy and works great
Works well with my Touch and my mates iPhone works on it too
