I do not know under what name Volkbits on e-bay posts in this forum but I want to give him a compliment.
When ordering 2 sets of GTI seat-inserts Paypal gave me a lot of trouble with old accounts and e-mail adresses I ended up ordering a few hundred or so and paying none ....
It was the helpdesk of paypal but most of all the patience and good contact with Volksbit that solved the matter...tomorrow I can pick it up at the postoffice...
I will mount them with grey tape...the red is a bit too red for me...

Can you post some pix, I'd be interested to see what that combination looks like

...AND THAT IS TOMORROW 10 O'CLOCK SHARP.....

Its Gulfstream11 that makes the aluminium seat inserts / footrests.
I got a footrest for my R, and one for my mates R32 - the quality is excellent.
Going to fit my mates one on Saturday... then mine one day *sigh*

^^^^ Yep! He is.
One of the cheapest and best mods you can do, the amount of people that comment about them when seeing them is unreal.
Takes their eyes away from the fact that VW are too tight to fit sill cover trims (and the ones that they fitted to mk5s suffered from white worm anyway).

^ Glad you said that i was thinking of splashing out on some at some point. I think i will not bother now.

I'm sure it's me who's too stupid to find these on fleabay but I wanted to buy some of these. Could somebody kindly post up a link (there was one on here a couple of weeks ago) that I could follow. Feel the urge to spend some money on the beast!!!

I just PM'd Gulfstream11 and he made me up what I wanted. I got a special 'R' footrest made up with the new logo. He emailed me his Paypal address and I sent him through the cash. Delivered the following day. Top class - highly recommended.
-
So how much are these now?
-
Footrest was £20 + £1.50 postage I think.
I don't know how much the seat inserts are, but I may be tempted to see if I can get some 'R' ones made up since the footrest is so well done.

Does he do door sills as well, then? Any pix?

Erik
The seat inserts really do look nice with the red underneath!
They are a nice cheapish way of sprucing up the seats and look well with the jacara cloth that I have in my GTI.

Cheers everybody - that was the link I was after.
Order placed.

I bought them from another seller also linked in this forum...I am gonna pick it up this afternoon...(Yours is RichGolf mine is Volksbits )
It looked great on a photographed GTI seat on one of the new car threads..
I am in doubt about red tape since I have choosen leather with black stitches....

I bought some from gulfstream11 on ebay and when i recieved them they had tiny scratches on them and the GTI logo wasn't straight.
I emailed him and he sent one back telling me he has never had any complaints before and how he package's them etc but to his credit did ask me to return them. I was going to order the footrest but didn't bother.
-
I have finished them...I did one set with red tape for my friend and another set different let's say "Erik Special" for myself......if you can't stand the surprise maybe you can post the 2 pics for me (see also D-Day)....

Hey guys.
I aint volksbits, but nothing wrong with some healthy competition..I was the first and have been copied by other firms who have bought bulk from me and left good feedback on my ebay page... But what the hell I dont hold no exclusivity. The ebay price is higher than the price anybody pays thru the forums I,m a member of.I always hold the GB offer open to anybody who PM,s me.
Rich351golf is the ebay name look for gulfstream11 in the desciption.Never let anybody down both here and abroad.
I design them myself, buy the original factory part to ensure proper fit and dont accept anything less than 1st class from manufacture.Anything gets thru thats below par is immediately changed for a new one... Requests catered for.
Cheers... Gulf

Erik, thanks for posting the pix of the inserts, but I have to say I'm not a fan of the carbon fibre look. When you said grey, I thought you meant a mid-grey colour to match the stripes on the cloth seats.

I bought my R foot rest from Gulfstream, it was really well made. He is also the first to come out with the seat inserts. They were copied by (someone else's) Idea International from down under and a few other places. I recommend buying from Gulf.
