You'll get loads of threads with different answers! Time, mileage all vary!
Every 4 years/40k seems to be the rationale on here.

It's actually 4yrs or 120k miles (for the ed30 anyway) - been discussed lots.
Didn't believe it myself, so I phone the dealer who confirmed it.

Just because the dealer said it doesnt mean its right. They talk so much sh!t its untrue.

LOL, I agree, but it's also written down in my handbook - I thought maybe they'd got miles and kilometers mixed up, but no, apparantly it is 120k miles.
I will be replacing mine at 80k miles.
-
To do 120k in 4 years you would have to do 80 miles a day which I doubt no one does in an ED30.
-
Mine had 32k miles on it when I bought it and it was not far over a year old!
And still on the original set of Michelins at the front!
-
So your saying your front tyres have done 32,000 miles? Are you sure lol
Did you buy it from a 200 year old woman?

He's right. Dealers speak shyte all the time.
My service book printed in 2004 says 120k miles, no mention of time. Things change but books already issued can't be updated.

where abouts in the handbook does it mention about the timing belt??? i cant find it!!!
-
In the service book section.

it has changed. Vw has updated it. I had a service last week and the dealer reminded me the cbelt is now due at 4 yrs or 60k miles ( mine is due in Sept due to it's age).
