Title: Extended warranty
Post by: clint4one on 31 March 2010, 11:01
Hi

My 2 year manufacters warrany(import) is due to run out next month so i have just give my local vw dealer a ring
to find out how much it will be to extend, she said it would be £440 for 1 year limited to 15k miles.

This seems kinda expensive so i was just wondering it there are any other alternitives?

My only concern is that i have had problems with the dsg in the past and would be gutted if i had
problems after my warranty has ran out.

This is from the faq on there site

Do your warranties cover DSG Gearbox?

Unfortunately as a DSG gearbox is not a standard automatic or manual gearbox
it is precluded from the protection of our Click4Warranty policies.

Join the AA (£30 ish) and take out their parts and labour warranty for c£69 and it'll cover upto £500 a time if major things go pop. Take a look on their website for the finer detail.
