Title: forge 007p
Post by: pitchy on 30 March 2010, 17:31
since i put my 007p on about a month ago iv felt like the boost was down slightly and was wondering if my spring is too weak?
ive since read an article all about the 007p and seen that you can shim the spring to adjust the strength , i was just wondering what size/increments are the spacers ? the valve dumps at the slightest little sniff of me backing off so i reckon its in need of a shim or two , il make a few up at work if i can find out the thickness . cheers

Have you had a remap? You should have got 3 springs with the DV, green, yellow and red.

Green is meant for standard cars, yellow for remap stage 1 (& maybe 2?) and red spring is for hardcore boost (about 28+ psi iirc)

I have yellow spring in mine and its fine, just remap no mods.

Open it up and see? Should be colour coded... If not then i think you would have to get some other springs to check how hard each one is against each other...

the spring can be adjusted with spacers as i was saying before, its in the maintenence guide for 007p, just need to know the size of the spacers to try

emailed awesome about my problem with my weak 007p and aparently forge has changed their spring manufacturer , in between this some valves went out with faulty springs , mine being one of them :undecided: but theyre sending me spacers to sort it  so all good

Did they say how they identify the DV's affected?

thats what i was hoping he would say :undecided: either way the spacer will do the same thing i supose.
stronz- u can tell if it dumps really easy , i can cruise at 2000rpm and back off just a fraction of a mm and it dumps , since i put it on i also felt like power was down slightly

Well I don't think I have any problems with mine, but I was just wondering if they were doing a recall if they know they have faulty parts out there  :undecided: Knowing most of us run these I didn't know if they said if there was a batch number or something people could check.
