Basically my question is that firstly when did the 130 and 150 gttdi's come out?
Reson I ask is that I see so many golf tdi's with gttdi written on the back but i'm assuming there all duds, is that right?
Also before a 51 plate what was the quickest tdi available? As everytime I get into a little race/war on the road with another tdi pre 02 plate I always leave them for dead yet is has the red d and red i as though it's a 130.
So what's the range and what is the quickest tdi before 02 reg? I think 02 is when the pd 130/150 came out is that correct if not please advise.
Cheers
Asif

The badges are nothing. My mate has a 115 with a red D and I, 2001 plate.

Ok fair do's and cheers for the info, so basically anything pre 51 plate is a what? 110bhp?
What was the range in TDi's pre the world of the 130 and 150?
Was it just the 110 and that was it?

90, 110 and 115

Cool cheers for that, it clears alot of things up for me now.
Obviously the guys trying there luck with me recently obviously don;t know about what their up against
-
Always remember that badges mean diddly squat
110 and 115 were available in GT trim
the 90 was S and SE trim only I believe
-
The GT trim as in the seats we have in out 130's?
Yeah I knew about the badges meaning squat but didn;t know what the possible engines the older one's had, as in I didn;t know if some of the older one's were actually quite powerfull or more powerfull than tthe 130 as I wasn't aware they didn;t make anything quicker pre 51 plate.

Yep

Also when did the 6 speed thing start in the tdi's?
As again i've seen a few y plate golfs that are 6 speed was that just an option?
I remember when I was looking for a 130 in the summer and so many coonts kept telling me that if it had the GT seats and 6 speed it was a 130.
Bloody coonts trying to rope me in to over charge me for a 110.

6 speed was first in the 115's although the very early 115's had 5 speed boxes too. It wasn't an option
In hindsight I'd prefer a 5 speed box as the ratios are much better - I find myself short shifting all the time

I know what you mean Rhyso 6th gear aint that at all, I hardly use it even on the motorway as the revs can sit too low sometimes and the car starts to struggle.
I find 5th is much better and better for eco which i didn't think i'd ever say.

No wonder your MPG is down, thats the whole point of 6th gear
I find it struggles a little if you're doing 60mph in 6th but I just feather the throttle and bring it it back up rather than change down
-
I only stay in 5th for like under 70 anything above I stay in 6th.
Only when I do over (cough cough) 70 are the revs high enough for the car not to struggle when you need a little more poke.
My MPG prob is deffo not this as my MPG is sh!te in all gears and scenarios.
Deffo gonna get topher or R-tech to have a good look at my car and check the whole fooker over for leaks and MPG probs, but this will be once i'm back from holiday which I still have about 8 weeks left :( all my dough is being piled into this holiday at the minute :( should be worth it though :)
