Post by: alirkhan on 29 March 2010, 13:28
HEy guys...vr6. dubai heat...37 o centigrade...car runs fine till the needle hits 90 degrees...generally after 25 km...then the temp ligh starts flashing...the engine temp reads between 106-110( the internal trip compu)..but it keeps going since i have my ac on and the fans are automatic with that...soooo...i kno its not the temp sensor since the fans work fine cause of the AC..all three levels...the water levelz fine...the coolantz there...i checked if the pump was working...removed the cap of the expansion tank..the water is circulating..no leaks in ny hoses...the temp stabilizes at 106 degrees if i do 100km/hr....but rises if i pass 2.8 on my rpm meter...i kno the heat wud do the engine in..so wat to doo!!!HELPPPP!!!...the car still does 60km daily without the needle exceeding 110 degrees...but i know it burning and im hurting...

sounds like thermostat stuck!! sure there is water flow from the small hose on the expansion tank when rev the car?water pump impellers do fall off, split, but sort of work.common fault on all vws, pattern pumps have metal parts!change thermostat as cheap near easy job, worth a try.
