just starting smoothing my rear end on the mk3, and it looks really cool. just thought id tell everyone. now it could be a vr6 or gti and nobody will know its actually a 1600! haha proper in love with the golf atm  :smiley:

p.s. VR6 JOE am i right in thinking that once you said that a engine cover from a modern polo will fit ontop of the 1.6 engine? im sure i remember you saying something like that, just wanted to tidy up the bay a bit!

What bits are you smoothing??

And yea a Polo 6n engine cover fits but you need the brackets too

joe you are the man  :wink:, im gonna source that bit as it looks sick. as for smoothing, took the golf badge off the right hand side of the back just to the right of the boot, taken the VW badge off the boot and getting that welded and getting the wipers taken off! im finally getting some progress made on the car at last, just really want that polo bit, how much do they cost from the dealers? altho i may try and find it from a scrappie!

Yea man that's the one you need, unfortunately mine says 1.4 on it lol! but I'm going to smooth it off soon when I get a chance

You'd just need to find the brackets!

We don't have any left, but I might be able to find some brackets, up to you man!

yeah sounds good depending on how much they cost! i may just make a bracket if its gonna be expensive. but thanks for helping dude  :wink:

Afraid not dude! I can't remember what the ABD engine looks like, you might be able to fit an AE* engine cover on it if the brackets are all in the same place

I'll have a look for you tomorrow bud, think all the ones he's got are non GTI's with keep fit windows :grin:
