Title: Anybody in the North East competent with door paneling/microswitches?
Post by: smiiithy on 28 March 2010, 14:21
I've got an issue with the door modules for my two front doors and boot. I'm wondering if there is anybody who has already replaced the micro switches on their Mk 4 might be willing to give me a hand?

Cheers in advance,

Mike

change the whole lock module, saves faffing about with the microswitches.

I've sent e-mails to a fair few breakers/VW suppliers today looking for replacement lock modules, but even changing that I could do with a hand. I have a highly recommended VW specialist quite close to me but I dread to think what the bill would be for the faults I have.

Front passenger side door microswitch works intermittently
This will work for a while after being banged and may just need soldering
The red puddle light does not come on
The courtesy light does not come on
The door open warning does not come up

Front driver side door microswitch does not work
The red puddle light does not come on
The courtesy light does not come on
The door open warning does not come up

Rear washer does not work
Possibly leaking into the boot lock & has damaged microswitch

Boot microswitch does not work

One of the parcel shelf hooks is snapped and needs replacing

Pay a local specialist to do the fronts if you cant

And the rear is easy:
