Title: What is counterflow? PLS HELP!

Hi guys,

Hope you can help. I have a Mk3 counterflow cam cover (maybe from a Polo) and I was under the impression it would fit any Mk2 (and Mk1) Golf without any probs, is this the case? Mk2 Golf driver 1.6 in particular. The bolt patterns of all Mk2 cam covers have been the same in my experience GTI and non but this is the first time I have come across 'counterflow'. The bolt pattern looks good but I do not have the car here to size up.

While we're here, what does counterflow mean?!

By counterflow it means the exhaust manifold and inlet manifold are on the same side of the head, where as a cross flow they are opposite, like a 16v engine.
