Title: Custom Exhaust Questions?
Post by: brendan on 25 March 2010, 17:54: Following on from another thread that I read, I'm looking for a custom exhaust system for my 1.8T. I've had a quote from a local exhaust specialist and they have quoted me £400 for a 3" turbo back system with a decat or sports cat, which ever my preferance and which ever tail pipe I want. I personally think this is a good quote as Miltek systems seem to be twice the price. What am I paying for apart from the name with a Miltek system? Are they really worth double the price? I understand that the custom exhaust isn't going to be as quiet as a Miltek system but they are also offering me a lifetime guarentee.

What are everyones views?

Yeah its my thread, I paid £53 for it, its still in packing. I would like £45 and postage will be free

Miltek have a big following because they are well made, fit well and sound awesome.

Are they worth double? Proparly not but thats for you to decide.

At the end of thr day its a peice metal tube!! lol

That said i love my miltek and got mine for a lot less by shopping around. (Shows etc) :smiley:

Cheers, I think I'll try and source a better price, but tbh if I can't find one I'll probably just end up going for a custom set up. Just don't want it to sound too chavvy.
