Title: help with dials
Post by: TIM20 on 12 November 2004, 15:31
I have got a 91 mk2 16v, its great to drive but one thing is really getting to me.

I keep getting problems with my rev counter and warning light for the coolant level.

Some times ( nearly all the time now) the coolant light flashes and the rev counter just bobs from the correct reading to zero and back up!!!

its really anoying when driving.

I have checked coolant, flushed system checked all connections etc and am now stuck as to what could be causing the problems.  The car drives exactly the same as it did before problem and im getting no other problems.

Anybody have any ideas what could be causing it????? Any help would be really helpful

Could it just be the clocks??

Could be an earth problem, check the connection from the rocker cover to the back of the engine bay, and while you're there check the gearbox earth and the coil connections
