Title: Just done the heater matrix!
Post by: drapergti on 22 March 2010, 22:49
Bearing in mind I'm a TOTAL novice just finished changing the matrix and radiator, put in a new newton commercial carpet and underlay now totally knackered and cut to ribbons...feels like a mk2 rite of passage!

Thank god for the advice on here...

Just the lower parts, took my time over it though!

No heat yet as I have not had a chance to get the air out of the system...lets hope I don't have to redo it...

Took me 5 hours with dash out. I still looked like a junkie when I'd finished though...scratches all over my fore-arms

Well done mate!

What was the Newton Commercial carpet fit like?
Did you use new soundproofing/deadening/underlay?

Yes, I bought the the underlay also. It's really good quality and requires a small amount of retrimming once in the car. Will sell the old one as it was fine, but as the car was in bits it was a good opportunity to get another job done.

Cheers
