dont suppose anyone knows if these are 100% genuine am just curious as to whether or not they fit snugly enough in the cut out on the front bumper on the mk4 does anyone have pics of it on and what type of screws do u use to fasten it down am having trouble getting my pressed plates to stay down with sticky pads even the heavy duty halford sh!t.

i purchased mine from here http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/webshop/number-plate-surrounds/abt-wolfsburg/ just using some small self tappers with the plastic washers you get with the surrounds (they are fastened on like one of those model kits) no problem at all fit your plate and clip the bottom piece in :afro:

Probably a real NOOB question but what are these and are they necessary to fit the surrounds? I'm getting my pressed plates and wolfsburg surrounds 2moro so just wondering about fitting them.
-
They're just as you've quoted. "a self tapping screw" i.e a screw that creates its own thread. A plate screw, a general screw.
Don't worry about it.
-
So I don't need them to fit the surround? :embarassed:
-
Basically the surround screws to your bumper - screws or bolts depending which car/where your mounting.
MK4 you'll use 2 screws. Just plate screws are fine.
With that fixed, you can then slot your plates into the holder, no fixings required.

exactly as jordy says

Cheers mate, the screws already on the plates should be fine then. Will now be fitting my new surrounds and pressed plates 2moro.
