im 18, have 1 years NCB and im looking at getting a 1.4 Mk3 golf
i have a 1.4 astra at the moment and pay £1020 with direct line, a golf puts that up to £1300
so who are other people similar to me with? and how much do you pay?

when i was younger i found that tesco was always cheapest for me, that was like 5 years ago tho. here they're still good for young drivers tho. also i used gocompare.com last month too, would recommend giving them a go too

Try Endsleigh's Student Policy out.. I'm 20, 1 years ncb and got my mk2 8v gti down to £750 fully comp, next to that was HIC for about £950, everywhere else was 1100+

Bell was pretty good for me on my 1.4. I was 21 when I took the policy out but didn't have any no claims, think I paid about £450 for a 10 month bonus accelarator policy.

I'm 22 and run a mk3 1.4 at £130 a month through ecar. Cheapest I've found anywhere. Elephant was £1960 a year, Adrian flux £1620.
I don't really get it as the bike I was running was a group 17 and £400 a year, yet this is group 6? And nearly 3 times as much and not nearly as much fun

Your being robbed mate
I'm 22 and insured on my 8v Gti for a third of that!!
You got any named drivers on your policy? I've got my mum and gf added, dropped the price a lot.

That's exactly what everyones been saying, but I'm yet to see it. Went on bell who are one of the cheapest and added on the olds, yet was still coming out at £1100

You tried speaking to them on the phone to find out why?? That sounds stupidly expensive to me, you given HIC a ring?
