Title: thermometer problme

hi guys, second post for me and its a problem haha.  went to check out my mk4 tht im pickin up on wednesday, buyin it fro a little garage, and the guy aint got a clue how to fix it, right problem : the thermometer reading on the dials is reading -50 degrees, got any idea as to what is causing this problem and how to rectify it?

New sensor  :undecided:

Looking at the front It is under the right hand lower grill. You need to remove the bumper.

cheers bud, will this deff be the problem? sensor expensive? nd is the bumper a cu*t to remove?

I would think so TBH Not expensive AFAIK

Cant miss it as you have to unplug it to remove the bumper  :laugh:

another thing, it says in the bumper removal guide "CAREFULLY pull out on the bumper, and set it down in front of the car. It will still be connected by the wiring for the corner lights (and outside temp sensor if you have a GLX)"

i aint got a GLX i dnt think, its a 1.8T lol or am i being a tw*t lol

Try disconnecting it then see if the reading disappears from the display  :wink:

Ah good shout just remove the lower grill and unplug to test it first  :wink:

oh, and the passenger window fell into the door when i was havin a look at it lol touched the button and boom!! window dropped and so did my jaw lol thougt i'd done something, heard this is common, guys gonna fix it haha.
