Title: VAGCOM cold diagnostics
Post by: steve o on 19 March 2010, 18:32
Ok, so lets say I wanted to go the whole hog and change every lamp in the car to either an LED or after market HID (no opinions please, this is just for arguments sake!)

Obviously when you do this, you get a lamp failure error on the dash and for certain lamps the power is cut to the lamps the car thinks are defective.

So, I've heard you can switch off the part of the electronics which looks for lamp failures by doing so with VAGCOM, thus eliminating any errors and not shutting the lamps down. I have a full version of VAGCOM and wondered if anyone knows what you would need to change for each lamp on the car, ie; number plate lamps, side lights, fog lights, main beam, dipped beam etc etc etc... in order to stop the lamp failure errors.

Cheers.
Steve.
