Title: Which lowering springs?

Hi im looking at getting some lowering springs but not sure which ones to go for just want some to go with some new standered shocks maybe gas shocks?
The springs im looking at are eibach pro kit springs or weitec f series springs also looked at koni sport springs? anyone know which would be best with standard shocks? looking at 40mm drop.

Just go my Eibachs from Rude Racing.. £120 posted.

Also got a set of Boge Turbos to fit them to, via my works.. www.vwsonline.co.uk..

Oh and also picked up a set of Mk3 VR6 Top mounts, limit stops, bearings and MK3 Heavy Duty spring caps (same width as Mk2 ones not the smaller Mk3 ones and have the flat bearing race on top rather than the peak top of the Mk2 one.. C&R sell all that as a 'comfort kit' along with Mk3 strut bellows and Mk4 sports bump stops...

Just noticed that alot of the lowering springs dont list 16v my car is a 16v?
only find 20mm drop was looking for 40mm?

your valver is lower than an 8v from stock,would probably look the same as an 8v with a 40mm lowering springs.
Does anyone have a photo of a 16v on eibach springs?(sorry for jumping on your post but i,m wanting a set too :smiley:)

So the 20mm kit for the 16v lowers the same as 40mm kit for the 8v?
Are the boge gas shocks better to go for than standard shocks?

You looking at the ones on eBay? I don't know why the 16v ones are listed with the TD's and the 8V and G60 ones are different. They all fit the same so it must be spring rates. I'd get the ones listed for the 8v and G60 myself that drop 40mm.

I did have a quick look on ebay but was looking at them from venom motorsports! was thinking bout just getting the 40mm 8v ones cant be that much diffrence surely?

Will fitting wise they are exactly the same so it can only be that the 8v ones may be a tad softer as it's a tad lighter at the front. Can't see it making any difference though.

Oh and in answer to your other question, the Boge Turbo shocks will be great paired with the eibach springs.
