after the tyre man noticing that my rear drivers side brake pad had worn all the way down but passenger hadnt, i changed the pad and now when i get home i smell brakes and there was a bit of smoke coming from my rear drivers side caliper.
why could this be? any ideas?

sounds like the piston caliper is stuck on therefore literally driving with the brakes on
you can remove and clean them up. worse case scenario is you'll need a new caliper

Dead common problem, always the drivers side too. Finally gonna swap mine next month and new discs and pads at the back :)
