I'm looking at gettign my arches rolled, iv been quoted £70 for all 4, whereas I was quoted £160 for getting them chopped at another garage. At a 3rd garage (where my dad used to work, one of the guys was saying if I get them chopped, theyr gonna rot, even if you seal them. Also, peole that have had this done, have you bonded the outer arch trims to the body, and what have you used?
-
depends how far u chop them back but yes he is right if you cut through above the seal then you will split the skins and as its close to the wheels will let water in and rot it from the inside!
get them rolled mate, mine was dropped 100mm and only needed them rolled on the front to stop scrubbing.
-
Tigerseal for sticking the arches back on.

Cheers dan, only thing is i have ET24 wheels, lol which also detracts from lowering lol. And cheers for the recommendation Wayne :)

if your using plastic trims you can carve the f**k out of the fronts and it'll be fine. just do it yourself with a grinder, and remove the archg liners and trim the arch covers to suit. You only need to remove the top part of the arch, the front and rear wont scrub, so leave them and rivet the arch on there, should hold it in place.
Rears are a pretty integral part of the chassis strength, so they must be rolled (or heated and beaten with a hammer :lipsrsealed: )
oh, and you dont pay for arch rolling, jack the car up, scaffold pole or similer at an angle in the wheel arch, roll car forward, hey presto, rolled arches.
-
What do you mean roll the car forward if its jacked up?
-
drop it down once the scaffold is in the arch, then roll it forwards.
-
chris, do you mean use the wheel to put pressure on the wheel arch to roll it :D
if so, respect you pikey git!!!:D:D:D:D:D
-
Scaffold pole works well, although I prefer the hammer technique.
But for maximum clearance, this is the way forward:
