Title: quick turbo question
Post by: jimmy1888 on 18 March 2010, 12:02
Hi all, ive had my golf for a few months now and being my first turbo charged car i have a question
I recently smoothed my airbox and fitted a pipercross filter, yesterday when driving the car i had the window open and heard a very clear whistleing noise between 2k and 3k revs in 3rd gear then it vanished is this normal??? I ask as it did this before but no where near as loud!!! worried somethings a miss!

Cheers

jim

What do you mean by loud whistle noise? Like an actual whistle or like a sucking/spooling noise?

Have you checked to see if the airbox cover is back on properly?  :undecided:

I get a sucking noise of my jabba induction at 1st followed by a scream of the turbo and then the roar of the exhaust reminding me to change gear
