Bought your GTI-T what did you do? (only did this model as it's what I have)
Did you drive it around as much as you could?
Clean/Polish
Test the performance?
Modify it? if so how much and what?
Or something else?

I had it posh valeted by TONA, then had it checked over an got a long an expensive list of things to fix!
So I'm currently tootling around in it until iv replaced all brakes an other bits, some essential, some just a preferance!
-
Told the wife I needed more power and better handling
-
........ Took it to R-Tech to transform her into a real GTI

I thought damn, what have i done.
Was so used to my last mk4 already being tuned, didnt think getting a standard one would feel much different and the white car looked nice but then on starting to clean it realised it may have had lady owners but none of which had looked after the bodywork. rear of the car was covered in brake dust from when the caliper had previously stuck.
So first thing was a 9 hour cleaning session on the outside and within a month and nearl 1k lighter, the car was running 198bhp and made me smile and realise why i bought it.

Went blashing pass the girlfriend in my old polo on the way home ,

i didnt have a gti but when i first got my r32 i did 1200 miles in the first week for no apparent reason
-
haa haa, I drove around for no apparent reason too... not for 1200 miles mind. But had it on diagnosics, polished her, got a quote to sort out some minor dents and blemishes, ordered a new GTI badge as it was a "G" booked in for cambelt and oil service so I know where I stand with it....
Just after somone with Vagcom/Tacho to add miles to empty on my computer and sort the auto windows up and down....
-
I took mine to R-tech 30 mins after i bought the car :lipsrsealed:

On my first Mk4,i spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to open the fuel cap,sat there flicking through the manual
-
washed it n then went driving evrywhere
-
waited 3 hours for the idiot who sold me my car to drain the petrol out of the tank
Then spent the journey home 'playing'
-
i bought mine from Corbridge last september ( 2 hour 30 min drive )
so i had a nice drive back, all motorway but i had a smile on my face like the cheshire cat all the way home, it was late evening so was pretty much night time.
i woke up early the next day like a child on christmas and went out and gave it a wash then drove round aimlessly just to play!
-
Excellent, I'm glad it isn't just me with the cheshire cat face, despite it being stock its the looks and all round package that impresses..

I bought mine, got it home and gave it a proper wash and wax. Didn't get mapped for a few moths as I wanted to find out if it had any problems first.
