Not sure if this is the right place but iv been working in a street and a few doors down there's a grey mk2 gti on the drive and no tax cince September last year I'm there again Wednesday might put a card through the door asking I they was wiling to sell now iv ot 500 ATM but not wanting to spend alot, not knowing alo about mk2 but this could be a bit of a project for me :)

It's parked facing the road and I can see a little rust on the splitter or just above it's worth an enquirry lol not sure if it's a 8 or 16v though

if you cant take a proper look around it or cant see under the bonnet then just grab the reg plate and check online :)

Don't really eana look round it if it's on the drive , I'm working there tomorow morning so I'll get reg n pop a note through the door bot sure way to offer tbh aha

I tried this with a gti that sat in the works car park for over a year.
Nobody knew whos it was and it just sat there,unusual colour 4 door gti with a decent exhaust,alloys and suspension.
It s gone now but dunno if it was scrapped or not.

Just after i got the atlas grey one i drive now some bloke on a motorbike rides alongside me while im driving to ask me to pull over.

Thats what i done with my GTI Mk2 this bloke had it from new but he never used it.
It is worth a go.
I got mine bit of a bargin.

Up to u mate, be good to see a pic of it.
The bloke said to me, name a price, so i said a realy low price.
He went away thinking about it.
He came back to be with another price and i could not say no.
The worst thing that can happen is he or she says no.

rotten sills/fuel filler area/boot lid etc etc. also does it actually run? might need a new battery if its been stood for a while.

seriously, offer him f**k all for it, you'll be surprised what people will take! Theres no way i would be looking to spend anywhere near that 600 on a car with no tax or mot. Go in with a cheeky 150 or so and dont go above 300ish. bid with the head, not the heart :wink:
also, dont tell robiwill where it is :grin:

ye i know.. bearing in mind the insurance on this for me is over 3k.. so may jus try and make some $$ on it.. and maybe insure it :D lol

Front valance looks proper scabby and the sunroof looks like it's dropped so it's probably full of water.
As Chris has said, go in with £150 and see what he says.

i picked up a non-running, rusty f-reg gti from a barn for £75, then when i realised it couldnt be saved by me i sold it for £150. :grin:

Aim for £200 top, if all else fail you could break it.

He said £500 I said Bo max £130 it's quite rusty and it don't rung it will be the car with no on bbs for £130 hopefully and may convert engine more

I got it for £130 which I think wa fair it's got potentional I think going to get it on the ramp tomorow and have a good look ? Silly question how do I open the petrol cap? I'm new to this scene :D

hmm no wheels and non-running, surely its therefore scrap value (£80?)
but still, if its an easy fix and the rust isnt too bad then not a bad buy :smiley:

Well buy the end of the week , I'd like the engine started and see how this rust is and get a list to together lol I'll get a project threat up I'm the 7 th owner I got a folder full of old mots etc and 2 keys too I'm really excited :) Toby

All the best with your new project. Looks very original and not tampered with. As you got it so cheap I would throw a bit of money on it, get it running and MOT'd then just run it as it is. Patina look!

Yeah u going to try and get it started I'm in no rush lol the gf wants to wack a 1.4 polo engine in to I for insurance lol
