Title: mk3 central locking

Hi all, just noticed a problem with my central locking, went to lock it earlier and it locks ok but the motor carries on running 20-30 seconds after iv locked it, then stops, does it sound like the motors gone, sounds coming from near filler cap, presume motor is there, any help appreciated, cheers

i had same problem mate, had the sound for several months then one day the motor completely gave up.

prob best to get a new motor to be honest. easy to swap out, its located in a polystyrene case underneath the drivers side rear light cluster.

make sure you get one with the same serial number on it

Could also be a loose pipe. I changed my door and the pipe came off in the loom. This sound happened until I reconnected it and it's been fine ever since.      Cheers      Deano

Cheers guys for answer, will check pipes to see if split etc, iv not had panels off or owt, so  will look in to it further, cheers

+1 on loose or split pipe, this would cause the pump unit to run on
