Title: replace tyres mk4
Post by: graham on 07 November 2004, 12:22
??? anyone advise on replacement tyres 195/65 x 15 for non-turbo 125bhp mk4 GTi. I have been informed that the Korean made Hankook are very good. Any other brands recommended?

The more money you spend the better quality of tyre you'll get, ie length of use, grip and noise reduction.

I opted for Michelin Pilot Primacy, bit more expensive and more of a winter tyre but great grip and very quiet.

I have Toyo proxes on my Mk3 but in a different size to what you are after (205/50/15). Have a look at www.mytyres.co.uk as they tend to have some good prices.

Graham, since you're changing your tyres, now might be the time to get some snazzy bigger alloys.  Ebay have some great bargains ( I got my genuine Audi TT alloys for ?350 ).
