I have seen very few of them, they are very rare also test drove one aganst the ED30, which is much better car IMO, the seats look awfull in the pirelli, the alloys dont looks as good as the ed30!!

I chose the ed30 at the time of buy. Brilliant motor.

I did'nt like the pirelli because of the seats , and the cabin is much better place to be inside the ED30 , yes same power, but for some reason they never took off in UK?? I wonder why??? If I was to choose again between the 2 cars it would be ED30 all day every day!! Now driving a GTD mk6 10 plate which is a very nice motor, Yes its step down a bit but it came down to runing cost, also got a great deal on a £29k loaded up!!

yeah steve ive seen your contributions to the MK6 section of this site mate!!!! im torn between MK5 and MK6.....i dont know whether the MK6 justifies the 22-28!!!!k prices that USED ones seem to be going for at the moment. Indeed ALL reviews ive seen comment upon the lack of fun of the MK6 compared to the MK5??????? I dont know but i think id rather spend 15-19k on a MK5 special like the Pirelli/Ed30 as opposed to a bog standard MK6????????????????/

They handle the power better than they really ought to

Grip is only an issue when you try to deploy more power than there is grip for.

I have a black 5 door GTi Pirelli and I have only ever seen one other on the road.

It gives a nice warm feeling knowing the car you drive is pretty rare. That said, most black golfs with tinted windows look similar !!!

Photos do not do them justice and the seats are better in the flesh, they provide loads of grip because of the microfibre material.

If I wanted a laggy K04 Golf I'd buy the Pirelli every time.
The Edition 30 is driven by chavvy types.  Spoils the whole classless GTI thing.

I've seen a forumite's Graphite Blue GTI in the flesh. Along with the Monza IIs, it just glistens in the streetlights at night and is a gorgeous colour in the daylight. Not seen a Pirelli version though.

The tough estates are full of old VR6's.
One of the top chav choices.

I really do see the ED30 as a baseball cap car, that's why so many are crashed.
