hi guys! im new to this! i want do to something a bidifferent so ive picked up a mk3 1.9 tdi, as its a everyday car i want to keep actual running costs down so I have had the idea of popping the 170bhp diesel lump from the new golf in! :cool: i know this seems pointess and a waste of money but its a bit different! is this do-able at all? any help is appreciated!

Its going be be difficult due to the 170 diesels being run off a Can-Bus interface and integration can be hard.

plus the cost of one of those engines even second hand would probably be more than the value of the car you have mate ;)
I been quoted £3k for a recon 1.8T 20v engine for my A4 Quattro....and close to a grand from ebay pulled out of a scrapper, which is no good for longevity as there is no history.
Nice thought tho!
