Can anyone recommend an alloy wheel repairer in south yorkshire?
Some i**** came down the middle of the road and left me with no where to go except
up the kerb.
Its rim damage only - 250mm along the rim.
Thanks for any recommendation.

I refurbished my own wheel a few years ago on my BMW 3 Series following a similar incident. It's not as difficult as you might think, although if you have Monzas I would imagine reproducing the brushed alluminium might be tricky. I posted a step-by-step how-to in this US BMW forum. It may help...

Thanks for the post on the repair, my wheel is a vancouver alloy and yes
it has a polished rim which is the damged bit.
Some one has given me a name to try so before I attempt the repair myself will ask their advice.

If you can get it done professionally at a reasonable cost, then go for it. Personally, though, having done it once myself, I'd definitely give it a go, especially on a Vancouver. The Monzas would be much harder because of the brushed finish.

The Vancouvers are Diamond cut and I was told by 2 diferent wheel refurbishers that it would cost around £110 plus the wheels are then painted so probably wouldn't match the rest of the wheels
I ended up buying a wheel from the dealer instead.
Lee on here was selling Vancouvers individually.

This is probably going to be an even bigger problem with the 18" Monzas. They have a rather large flat and shiny surface.

Repair tommorrow, I'll let you know how it goes!
(Tried wheel magic - but could not repair it - they recommended someone who works from his garage but decided against that!!!)
My vw dealer has someone who does the repair I assume repolishes etc. (its just the rim etc.)
I will post a before and after picture if I can remeber how to do it.
thanks for the replies

Olly how much are they charging you for it?

Wow, that's nothing. I was quoted 'about £180' when I scuffed that BMW wheel and that's why I did it myself!

This is not going to end well :(
Im guessing you have the 18 showdow Monzas? If this is the case then as someone said they are diamond cut and only special machines can do this hence the high cost. For £35 + VAT they will NOT be doing a proper job and you may end up causing more damage than good.

Thanks for the post on the repair, my wheel is a vancouver alloy
No not Monza shadow but another diamond cut wheel with the same principal.

Repair cost £47.00 and 12 months guarantee!!
the wheel has been recut!!! or reground
result looks good.
Well done my VW dealer, well impressed.
What he tells me is the firm calls once a fortnight to repair traded in cars and demonstrator wheels
mine was just added to the list and I probs got the dealers rate.
