Title: Mk3 GTI standard setup
Post by: luckycharms on 13 March 2010, 16:44
There are 8 speakers in a GTI System right?
I know very little about car audio so please bear with me...

In my 16v anniversary, someone along the line fitted an Pioneer head unit. on the front i see its capable of powering 4x25 watt speakers. How does this relate to the speakers in my mk3??

90% of HU's are designed as a standalone upgrade, this means that most standard speakers should be able to happily handle the power which a HU will output, as long as you don't go silly and run them to destruction..

If you are worried about the fact there are 8 speakers then I wouldn't worry, 4 of them are tweeters so it kind of equals only 4 speakers in the end really.
