Title: Bit shocked!!

I have a 1.6 1998 5door ... just decided to do some quotes on a Gti  :laugh: as i am desperate to upgrade, and been offered roughly £800 fully comp and at the moment im paying £1200 on my 1.6 third party!!  :huh: .. Im 20 with coming up to 3 years no claims in few months, is that quote about correct? also how much should i be looking at for my car, has 90,000 miles ... and is in good condition, Thanks  :smiley:

thats good price i think anyway,it depends on what year of a golf you want.

mate thats about right im 23 been driving for a few years got 2 no claims and i pay 650 a year on my gti bargain

Just did that came up with:

Dealer  £1,935 
Private  £1,775 
Part exchange  £1,645 
Trade  £1,445 
Cost new  £15,900 

Not too bad  :smiley:

Thats autotrader car is a bloody good deal i would say.

I'd be suspicious of that place as their also selling a 1.4 MK4 which is older, same mileage for roughly the same price as the 2001 turbo.
 They probably haven't mentioned it's right off or has no engine. :tongue:

my renewal this year is around £600 thats 26 and 3yrs n/c

so £800 is a good price considering your 6 years younger

you wouldnt get 1400 for it trade mate, 1999 (V) gti turbo with 85k only booked at 1100 hence why i only paid 1100 for it lol
