Title: Wooly pyjamas (aka custom car cover)
Post by: FroGTI on 12 March 2010, 08:23
I thought I'd invest in a tailor-made indoor cover for the GTI. The material is like a sweatshirt, quite thick extra fleecy on the inside, and therefore offers some protection against small knocks and other vicious assaults from my 2 year-old

Your two year old will just try and climb inside it.
I don't see the point on a mk6 its there to be driven. I can see the point with say my mk1.

It's not waterproof, indoor use only. I agree that it's hardly the most vital accessory ever, but the GTI is not my daily driver and, in the winter especially, it often stays in the garage for weeks at a time accumulating dust (however clean I try to keep the garage )

I get my covers (this is the 3rd one I've had) from Specialised Car Covers in Bradford. They're expensive, but very high quality and they are available in 8 or so colours, with or without piping.

You should try cutting out a hole for the windscreen and a slit for the doors... then you can drive it without it getting dirty

Might have stopped the chipped windscreen I got today.

Is it just me or are the roads full of pot hole debris cr*p at the moment?
